wow! that was a profoundly good interview to be able to hear! Thankyou so much to you guys for doing this.. would love to have heard hours more of your thoughts on this.. I'll get your book!
George still has the guns
Damn what a legend!! He actually did it
Love sal
I REMEMBER TELLING MY EX WIFE IN THE WORDS OF GEORGE FOSTER WHEN HE WAS TRADED TO THE METS. I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSEGARDEN
Im So Glad Foster Taught pete rose so well !!!!!!! !
What I remember was Foster's black bat.
I met George Foster at Lee Mazzilli's baseball camp in 1982. Have to say out of all the players I met at that camp, Foster was one of the nicest guys. He was only supposed to show up one day, but came for all 3 days of the all star break and spent time with us.
3 things Otis is very good at: stealing bases, playing outfield and smoking crack
Loved watching Nixon play- the excitement of him stealing bases and the Spider-Man catch on the Fulton Co Stadium wall still blows my mind
Pendleton, Nixon, and Sid Bream. Braves legends. My heros as a kid.
Liked the interview and it's great advice.
this mirabelli guy is a complete joke.....go llok at his drafts with the cleveland indians......absolutely terrible.....listen to his answer to the first question..." play under control " ????......
Greta info 🙌
One of the best center fielders in baseball he could do it all period
A legendary Brave! Love this guy. I met him when I was a child(12)and he was so kind and gracious.
How about George Foster's throw to nail Denny Doyle at home plate and save Game 6 of the World Series? People don't remember that play because of the Carlton Fisk home run that came afterward, but if the Reds had won that game, Foster's amazing throw (he launched the ball purely with his arm from a standing stop, without wasting any time on a step!) would be a lot more famous...
❤
I just watched a video where he stole those 6 bases in one game. I looked for Otis on RUclips because I found an autographed photo from years ago that he gave to my brother for helping him jump start his car. Cool find after all these years. Otis was awesome!
It was a very good trade for Atlanta and Nixon.
Jesus Saves Love God✝️
Hall of Famer !
SOS

Foster’s hitting was streaky. When he got hot pitchers were toast.
Streaky..that describes every baseball player ever LoL
Nixson has always looked 60 since the 80s lol. And now he finally looks his age.
He finally caught up to his age. Now he looks younger than 60. 😂
George in 77' had the best power year amongst everyone during the entire decade- .320 avg; 52 homers; 149 rbi. No one beats that
Really helped
I’m at a juco and it’s exactly the same. Make good grades ! And play hard !
Matt Murton is still a legend in Japan.
He was the Randy Moss of baseball.
Sioux looking brother... heya paccha family...
Fast
Fun watching him
It’s kind of bush league to promote your stuff on someone else’s video message board-so no, I won’t look you up. Low integrity is often low credibility
I think differently about "gotten be comfortable being uncomfortable." I promote executing no matter what you feel, good or bad. A player who can get there and execute in spite of say, anxiety, or disappointment, or joy, is functioning as a player. It is a very tough place to get to as their are tons of distractions.
that's what he said! he said feeling good is overrated . it's DOING your process even when you don't feel like doing it. that's what he said!
Always loved watching Otis play back in the early 90s GO BRAVOS!!!!!
I would kill for that to be my schedule
Seems like a great coach .
well, he was a star on my Strato team, but this guy is very hard to like. difficult and full of himself. also, threw the race card when the Mets released him.
totally different than the image I saw on the tv screen while watching him play. Foster was so quiet. But man has he got a great sense of humor and smarts to go along with it. He's kept himself in great shape.
I like that he gave props to JR Richard. He was a helluva fireballer back in the day. Career cut short due to a heart attack I believe.
Stroke
He did it with solid hit and quick bat, no ped needed
I thought it was a player like a George Foster though he was a left batter When you first saw Hideki Matsui.

Most colleges have 6 am weights. Also Study Hall is pretty typical. Obviously every player will take classes. And I'd have to say that 3-3.5 hour practices are pretty normal at any school from JUCO to D1.
That Saturday afternoon baseball game at Houston, where he parked it, dead center field in the Astrodome. That shot had to be 430 feet. Very hard to homer in that ballpark, back then, let alone center field! That dude was all natural, with that Black Beauty bat......!
It's tough guys! But you get used to it. If you got the right mind set it'll be fun. All those things you do outside of the game makes you look forward to lacing up and competing! Wouldn't trade the opportunity to play college baseball for ANYTHING!
One of the best/honest feedback from a coach. If parents think their kid is going to the "Next level" they should share this with their kid. Thanks!
What comes first, the chicken or the egg? Confidence or success? IMO confidence comes from within. People must always believe in themselves first, regardless of outcomes. Trust the process. Do not worry about outcomes. Learn from failures (fail forward). Do not stop believing in yourself and never quit. Success and failure cannot be separated. There is no success without failure.
Well thought out advice, great work getting this insight david
